About The Position

Lifeguard (Certified or Non-Certified) CPR and LIFEGUARD Certification Commitment YES Communities is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents, which is why we proudly offer to cover the expenses (of up to $200) associated with obtaining essential certifications. This includes not only lifeguard certification but also CPR training, so that our community members can feel confident and prepared in any situation requiring life-saving skills. By prioritizing the provision of these certifications, we aim to create a secure and thriving environment for all. Your role at YES As a community with families and children, it will be up to you to ensure that the pool area is safe and secure and that the residents are following rules and regulations established by the community. You need to ensure that the pool and surrounding areas including the pool bathrooms are opened and well-stocked. And should an emergency come up, you will be one of the valued members who may be called on to assist.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions at the community
  • Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions
  • Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in pool activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety
  • Knowledge of on-site protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services

Responsibilities

  • Warn residents of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies
  • Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
  • Evaluate conditions for safety and initiate emergency action plan as required.
  • Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
  • Supervise and assist in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assist with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, and add chemicals to pool water as directed.
  • Instruct or assist classes in fundamentals of swimming (if necessary)
