About The Position
Monitors swimming area to prevent accidents, provides assistance to swimmers and enforces pool safety rules.
Requirements
- Knowledge of lifesaving techniques and methods required
- Knowledge of first aid principals and practices required
- Must be able to utilize and interpret a chemical testing kit
- Must possess current Lifeguard; Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer; and AED certifications.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma preferred
- Previous lifeguarding experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain surveillance of swimming pool and surrounding deck area
- Rescue and administer first aid and CPR as needed
- Maintain order in swimming areas
- Inspect pool area for cleanliness and safety hazards
- Test chlorine or bromine content and pH value of water and add chemicals as needed
- Enforce MTA’s swimming pool rules, regulations and policies
- Apply Emergency Action Plan when necessary
- Set up, break down, and store pool deck and safety equipment upon opening and closing
- Adhere to company memos and safety notices and prepares Accident/Incident reports as necessary
- Regular and reliable attendance required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
