VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. It also provides wellness programs, educational opportunities, and arts and cultural activities for residents and the wider community. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and supervision of members and guests in VMRC's Wellness Center aquatics area. Salary is based on previous qualifications and experience. The starting base pay rate is $16.25 - $20.30 per hour. We will immediately consider applicants in need of summer hours, with the potential to continue through the school year. Work Schedule: Based upon staffing needs and the selected candidate's availability Potential hours are 3-4-hour shifts, scheduled Monday through Friday between 5:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 6:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Primary needs are: 5:45 am - 10:00 am or 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Average of 12-20 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks) Not eligible for benefits Why Join VMRC? Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with experience as a pool lifeguard in a hospital, recreational or commercial fitness facility.
  • Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard AED/CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Possess a command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service with a friendly, outgoing, and customer-service oriented approach
  • Ability to work closely with the senior population in a calm, cooperative, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
