About The Position

Hueston Woods Lodge & Conference Center is seeking Lifeguards for the summer season! This is a great position if you love swimming & the outdoors! Lifeguards at Hueston Woods are responsible only for the outdoor pool. Certification is preferred, but Hueston Woods will pay/reimburse for Lifeguard training and a starting wage is $15.00/hour. Lifeguards ensure the safety of all swimmers and the enforcement of all State and company pool rules and regulations.

Requirements

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with varying temperatures.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Walking and standing are also required.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively and remain calm in stressful situations with all guests, including children.
Ability to take control of emergency situations

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of all swimmers and enforce pool rules and regulations.
Monitors recreational areas to provide assistance and protection to participants.
Provides prompt and courteous service to each guest.
Understands pool equipment.
Understands and enforces pool rules and regulations.
Stays updated on training requirements.
Works to prevent accidents.
Coordinates emergency procedures and provides first aid in an emergency.
Documents all incidents that occurred while on duty.
Reports hazards to supervisor immediately.
Opens and closes the pool at posted times.
Clears pool at closing time.
Cleans up pool deck areas after closing.
Other duties as assigned by management.
