About The Position

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all club members and guest in the pool and surrounding recreational areas. This role requires continuous monitoring of activities, enforcing safety rules, and responding promptly and effectively to emergencies. The Lifeguard will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly manner while maintaining a positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm in uncomfortable conflicts
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to perform cash transactions accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, reach, squat, and stretch while handling merchandise, stocking, or assisting customers
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous in-person customer experience preferred
  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Knowledge of retail operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office operations

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance of the pool and recreational areas
  • Monitor swimmers and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Identify, address, and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions
  • Respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations
  • Administer first aid and CPR when required
  • Coordinate with emergency services and communicate with staff during critical incidents
  • Provide friendly, professional service to club members and guests
  • Respond to questions, concerns, and request in a courteous and timely manner
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure pool and facility safety and cleanliness
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs or facility issues promptly
  • Enforce pool and facility rules consistently, respectfully, and fairly
  • Educate members and guest son safety guidelines and proper pool use
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with fellow lifeguards, supervisors, and other club staff
  • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and continuing education
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
