About The Position

RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions · Ensure safety by preventing accidents and injuries using lifeguarding and water safety skills. · Respond to emergencies by monitoring water activities through visual and audio surveillance. · Maintain focus and concentration by standing for extended periods with minimal distraction. · Quickly identify and respond to emergencies both visually and audibly. · Administer first aid and emergency assistance in accordance with certified training and Rocket Center policies. · Accurately report and document incidents, accidents, attendance, maintenance issues, and time worked. · Maintain reliable transportation to and from work. · Regularly survey the swimming facilities and check staff information in the office. · Adhere to the established uniform code while on duty. · Ensure the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. · Keep lifesaving and first aid equipment in operational condition and readily available. · Submit detailed reports on any facility concerns or issues to the Water Training Facilities Manager. · Enforce Rocket Center pool rules and policies in a courteous, professional manner. · Implement appropriate discipline procedures in line with the procedure manual. · Represent the Rocket Center positively to swimmers and guests. · Actively participate in ongoing in-service training and staff meetings. · Maintain all required certifications to remain eligible for employment. · Perform light to moderate pool maintenance and care for surrounding areas when needed, in collaboration with other lifeguards. · Complete other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the organization. · Take responsibility for working safely and maintaining a safe workplace environment. Requirements

  • Ability to successfully complete the American Red Cross CPR and Lifeguard certification course within 15 days of hire.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position requires walking and climbing to access equipment.
  • Must be capable of safely lifting and supporting an adult from the water during emergency situations.
  • The role also involves bending, kneeling, and reaching to maintain equipment.
  • Additionally, candidates must have the ability to use their sight, wrist movements, and sense of feeling to perform lifesaving duties.
  • Effective communication skills are also necessary, as the position requires talking and hearing to interact with employees and guests.
  • Swim proficiency will be evaluated as part of the hiring/employment process.

  • Previous lifeguard experience preferred.
