About the role Flexible part-time shifts, working up to 25 hours per week Looking for a fun part-time job as part of an Aquatics Team? HealthFitness is hiring Lifeguards to join our team in Beaumont, TX. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.

Requirements

  • Lifeguard & CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross (or willingness to obtain certification) required.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
  • Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
  • Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
  • All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500-yard swim. Active, Passive, Submerged rescues. Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water. Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
  • Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
  • Respond appropriately to any emergency.
  • Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and training.
  • Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.
