About The Position

This posting is a general posting that will serve for many part-time, non-benefited, openings for Lifeguards. Position Summary The University of Denver is seeking motivated and qualified lifeguards to start this summer season. Lifeguards play a crucial role in the safety and health of the DU community. This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Requirements

• A minimum of 16 years of age.
• Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification, or willingness to obtain a Red Cross lifeguard certification.
• Willingness to learn and comply with our facility specific health and safety procedures.
• Ability to sit and stand while maintaining focus for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with other faculty, staff, and patrons.

Nice To Haves

• Previous lifeguarding or aquatics experience.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and respond to any and all emergencies quickly and appropriately.
• Prevent emergencies from arising by enforcing all rules and regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and heath of patrons and the facilities.
• Attend scheduled quarterly in-services to maintain proper training.
