Lifeguard training will be provided by Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park. SUMMARY The Lifeguard has a legal duty to protect the safety of people in an assigned area. The Lifeguard has a professional obligation to prevent potential accidents by enforcing the rules and regulations of an aquatic setting and to react to any emergencies that occur. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Must have good eye-hand coordination. Must be able to read, and interpret printed material and illustrations. Anticipate how and where incidents will occur Recognize incidents utilizing the “10/20 Protection Rule” Effectively manage the incidents with skills that must be maintained at a “test-ready” level, including, Professional Rescuer CPR ILTP Lifeguard Skills Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider; AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration Think critically about the complications that might be present in real situations Act in a professional manner Protect your safety and well-being Understand how to prevent exposure to disease transmission Abide by the contents and obligations as set forth in the ILTP – CARMP. Able to lift and drag up to 150 pounds unassisted. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, including in elevated chairs. Able to visually inspect conditions of pools and swimmers with 20/25 vision in both eyes (with or without corrective lenses). Able to hear noises and sounds of distress even outside one's vision. Able to communicate verbally including projecting the voice across large distances. Ability to follow and accomplish technical and complex instructions & procedures.
