As a Lifeguard at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of guests while they enjoy the pool and its surrounding areas. This seasonal position requires you to be at least 16 years of age and possess the necessary certifications, including Lifeguard certification, CPR for the professional rescuer, and first aid training, all of which must be obtained prior to employment. You will be expected to provide courteous guest service, engaging in conversations in a professional and friendly manner, while maintaining an attentive posture at all times while guarding the pool. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. Your duties will include monitoring the pool area from lifeguard stands, ensuring the safety of guests, and adhering to all safety and health standards. You will need to demonstrate physical stamina and the ability to perform under pressure, especially in emergency situations. This includes assessing situations and executing rescue skills in accordance with American Red Cross guidelines, which may involve swimming various strokes such as sidestroke, crawl, or breaststroke. The position also requires heavy lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling, as you may need to lift lounge chairs and move towel carts during your shift. You will be expected to stand and move throughout the pool area efficiently, regardless of extreme temperatures or other adverse conditions. Additionally, you must be able to swim 500 meters nonstop and respond to visual and oral cues. Communication skills are essential, as you must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Availability to work weekends and holidays is also required, and you will be subject to a drug test and background check as part of the employment process.
