About The Position

HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a part-time Lifeguard in Batavia, OH. Working approximately 10 hours per week. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all the aquatic facility members and guests. Available shifts: Monday - Friday 5:45 AM - 10:00 AM, Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturdays & Sundays 7:45 AM - 12:00 PM.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
• All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500 yard swim, Active, Passive, Submerged rescues, Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water, Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and document results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels, cleaning, filling water machines, and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure a safe environment for members.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.
