Peninsula Community Center, a ministry of Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC), builds community by providing personal, healthy, and meaningful connections through aquatics, fitness, tennis, and community programming. PCC is a vibrant and forward-thinking church located in Redwood City, dedicated to serving our community and making a positive impact through our outreach programs including our Community Center. PCC employs over 150 seasonal and part-time staff to support various community efforts. PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE The Lifeguard Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification courses, ensuring participants are trained in water rescue skills, surveillance, emergency response, and professional lifeguarding standards. This role upholds safety, instructional excellence, and Red Cross program compliance while creating a positive and supportive learning environment. The instructor will teach approximately 3–4 lifeguard certification classes per year. PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The Lifeguard Instructor reports directly to the Aquatics Director and works closely with the Aquatics and Swim Team Coordinators. This role collaborates with aquatics staff to support lifeguard staffing needs and ensure program consistency, safety standards, and participant success.
