About The Position
Under direct supervision, this position provides water safety protection for swimmers at College facility. Duties include: interacting with users of the facility in a professional manner on a daily basis; addressing safety of swimmers for changes in weather conditions; scanning swimming environment to make sure swimmers are following safety guidelines; and performing emergency duties if needed.
Requirements
- Possess any relevant combination of training, experience and education, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
- Valid certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/ AED
- Knowledge of approved water rescue methods and first aid techniques
- Skill in swimming and water rescue
- Skill in organizing
- Skill with basic computer applications employees use on the job or as employees of the College
- Ability to learn and enforce facility rules and regulations
- Ability to maintain the safety of patrons and to recognize and prevent dangerous situations from arising
