About The Position

Enforces regulations and protects life at a City pool. Patrols and observes swimming pool area to ensure appropriate use by patrons.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at time of application.
The following valid certificates and/or wallet card(s) must be possessed at time of application and maintained valid throughout employment: Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency.
Must be able to pass the City of Miami's performance test, which may include swimming, running, and simulated rescue exercises.
Employees in this classification will be required to work various shifts, to include nights, holidays and weekends.
Candidates will be subject to a Level II background screening.
Applicants, including City of Miami employees, must upload and submit attached copies of the following documents with the employment application.
Proof of Age: issued by the United States of America Government: Copy of Birth Certificate, State Driver's License/Identification card, Naturalization Certification or valid U.S. Passport.
Proof of Valid Lifeguard Certificates: Copies of the following documents issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency must be uploaded and attached to the application prior to submission: Lifeguard Training First Aid CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
All certifications must be valid and will be verified.
Applications will be deemed ineligible unless copies of the required documents are uploaded and attached to the employment application at the time of submission.
Certifications must be issued by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or other nationally recognized certifying agency and kept current throughout employment.
Applicants must be available to report to work by Spring 2025 and through the summer season.
Attendance to a mandatory orientation session prior to work assignment is required.
