About The Position

The Lifeguard position at Little Buffalo State Park is a seasonal role focused on ensuring the safety of visitors at swimming areas. The lifeguard will monitor activities, respond to emergencies, and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for park guests. This role requires interaction with visitors and the ability to perform lifesaving techniques when necessary.

Requirements

• Must obtain a valid Lifeguard Certification within 14 days of employment.
• Must obtain certifications in standard first aid and CPR within 14 days of employment.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
• Must pass a background investigation and provide satisfactory criminal history reports.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor swimming areas for visitor safety.
• Recognize swimmers in distress and perform rescues using lifesaving techniques.
• Utilize first aid, artificial respiration, and CPR as needed.
• Inspect safety equipment including buoys, ropes, and first aid supplies.
• Interact with park guests to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience.
