Our facility is managed by Power Wellness Management, a company that specializes in managing state-of-the-art medically integrated health and fitness centers. Power Wellness is a medical fitness industry pioneer who improves the lives of clients with a unique and customized approach to medical fitness center development and management. Their turnkey method takes away the stress of the development and management process allowing clients to focus on other areas of their business. The Lifeguard Coordinator (Head Lifeguard) is responsible for overseeing, supervising and supporting the lifeguard team members. The Lifeguard Coordinator will provide safety to the members and guests in the pools and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training required.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness)
  • Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization required, if required by state law.
  • Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service based manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor with a high level of organizational skills and efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university in a health-related, recreation management, or similar field preferred.
  • Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.
  • Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operation of the pool areas in the absence of the pool or center manager.
  • Oversee the guard schedule and in service training of the guard staff.
  • Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants in and about the swimming areas.
  • Possess a clear understanding of the rules, regulations, and operational and emergency procedures and be able to enforce those rules and procedures.
  • Ensure that pool’s and surrounding areas are clean, safe and well maintained.
  • Plan in-service workshops and certifications for instructors to support the maintenance of CEC’s required to keep certifications current.
  • Work Manager on Duty shifts as assigned.
  • Other duties assigned.
