About The Position

Lake Nona Performance Club Lifeguard: Looking specifically for opening shifts! Weekday 8am-2pm. MAIN FUNCTION: A lifeguard Attendants main responsibility is to keep the patrons safe, maintain a clean facility, and have an excellent customer service mentality under direct supervision from their leadership team. Lifeguard Attendants must be prepared to act responsibly in emergency situations, prevent emergencies from arriving, and enforce all facility rules. PREFERRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies. Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary. Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required. Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable. Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment. Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed. Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions at Lake Nona Performance Club to determine any potential dangers or hazards Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in aquatic activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety Knowledge of on-site Lake Nona Performance Club protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services Excellent interpersonal skills needed for exemplary customer service; outgoing, friendly, and compassionate. GENERAL: Accepts constructive criticism/direction and effectively changes own performance. Passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of others and able to lead by example by living a healthy and active lifestyle. Perform all physical demands as required of a certified lifeguard. Hear noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment, including in water with background noise and perform all needed rescue skills Operate alone as a lifeguard, without other lifeguards for support. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months of related work experience
  • Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate, or equivalent
  • American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent
  • No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months
  • Pass Background Check
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or equivalent
  • Perform all physical demands as required of a certified lifeguard.
  • Hear noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment, including in water with background noise and perform all needed rescue skills
  • Operate alone as a lifeguard, without other lifeguards for support.
