Requirements

  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting water treatment technology with midrange electrical components containing mixers, pumps, HMI/SCADA controls, and Instrumentations.
  • Basic understanding of electrical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with 4-20mA instrumentation and scaling.
  • Highly recommended: Experience troubleshooting VFDs (e.g., Schneider, Danfoss, and/or Allen-Bradley) and instrumentation such as level transducers, flow meters, pH probes, or DO probes.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel.
  • Strong record-keeping skills and experience with CRM systems.

  • Intermediate knowledge of water treatment processes and midrange electrical systems, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting, including 4-20mA signals, to ensure system reliability.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to build trust and drive client satisfaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, balancing technical and customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Detail-oriented with advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills to tackle complex challenges.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to support diverse customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Lifecycle Service Technician I duties, including startup, commissioning, customer training, and troubleshooting for low voltage and light electrical water treatment systems.
  • Provide startup, commissioning, customer training, and troubleshooting for midrange electrical rotating equipment, such as aeration mixers and deaerators ensuring reliable system performance.
  • Conduct startup, commissioning, and seeding for advanced membrane-based systems including MBR and RO.
  • Support retrofits across various water treatment systems, enhancing equipment functionality and longevity.
  • Participate in handoff meetings with Project Managers, Contractors, and End Users to communicate prerequisites for site readiness, ensuring project alignment.
  • Build training documentation for all Newterra product lines, including policies, procedures, and PowerPoints.
  • Use CRM and SharePoint tools to track root cause analysis and document service activities accurately, driving operational improvements.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues in assigned systems, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve moderate mechanical and electrical PLC Panel troubleshooting to maintain system reliability.
  • Coordinate travel schedules, customer communications, and onsite service visits independently, delivering exceptional service experiences.
  • Monitor operational parameters of treatment systems and provide actionable feedback to management to enhance system efficiency.
  • Mentor Level I technicians, fostering their skill development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Adhere to Newterra and customer safety policies during all field operations, championing a culture of safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records and images in SharePoint to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for operational or service improvements to enhance customer outcomes.
  • Support Sales by communicating opportunities for additional services or upgrades, contributing to business growth.
  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance to Newterra’s internal quality standards.
  • Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.
