About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Life Skills Instructor for our Life Choices program in Burlington, MA. This position works directly with our individuals within the day program. SHIFTS 40 hours per week, Program hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Requirements

• BA/BS and/or one-year previous work experience in human service setting preferred.
• Adequate skills and ability to use computer for documentation, email communication and on-line training.
• Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable CORI report (criminal record assessment) and clear fingerprinting results.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with both their physical needs and defined support plans. Ability to adapt and make adjustments to techniques based on functional abilities and limitations. This includes complete familiarity with the profiles and histories of individuals supported and active indications that care and assistance follows the prescribed needs.
• Participates in the development and direct implementation of the Individual Support Plan, write annual assessments and goals and attend team meetings as scheduled.
• Assesses individual’s training needs, develops descriptive teaching programs and curricula and monitors effectiveness through data collection.
• Implements clinical and behavioral treatment plans, record target behaviors on data sheets and participate in clinical consultation as needed.
• Develops and implements community-based activities that promote personal choice, community inclusion, dignity, and respect while enhancing personal skill development.
• Provides direct employment support and on the job training both in house and in the community.
• Promotes the expansion of employment and educational opportunities of those supported.
• Assists individuals in community employment, this may include training in soft skills, on the job training and acting as a liaison with employers and potential employers.
• Teaches classes to individuals by following program curriculum.
