About The Position

COME JOIN OUR Independent Living Services TEAM! Supporting individuals in San Marcos, Escondido, Vista and Oceanside areas. Schedule shows a range of hours- 8 hours must be worked. Monday 8:00am-8:00pm Tuesday 8:00am-8:00pm Wednesday 6:30am- 6:30pm Thursday 8:00am-8:00pm Friday 8:00am-8:00pm Saturday (occasional) 8:00am-8:00pm Are you someone who loves helping others, is patient, compassionate, and dependable, and wants a meaningful career? Join Spread Your Wings, LLC. – ILS Services as a Life Skills Mentor/Coach and support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and confidence in their daily lives. What you'll do: Coach clients on building independent living skills Spend 90% of your time in the field with clients and 10% on admin/documentation Assist, monitor, and teach individual(s) with preparation of daytime activities and encourage good personal hygiene and behavior appropriate in their home or out in the community. These activities may include grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation, and clean up. Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral challenges. Help plan, create, and organize tasks and schedules that promote goal achievement for your clients. Provide consistent documentation of progress through case notes and quarterly reports. You'd be great if you: Have a passion for helping others and believe in treating people with dignity and respect. Can problem solve and adapt to different client needs. Can work flexible hours and adapt to different client needs Are a strong communicator and dependable. Are comfortable working independently in one-on-one settings Have experience working in a similar role or field (preferred, not required) Are willing to learn and grow in this role.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
Able to work and commute in and around the assigned Orange County area
Able to pass a background check (per state industry standards)
Computer literacy: MS Word, email, basic data entry

Have experience working in a similar role or field (preferred, not required)
