The potential of human pluripotent stem cells to transform regenerative medicine has not yet been fully realized, because it is currently challenging to efficiently differentiate pluripotent stem cells into specialized cell-types. To help address this challenge, the Loh Laboratory (https://loh.stanford.edu/) at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine and the Department of Developmental Biology at Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 to perform basic functions and activities involved in defined research projects, and independently conduct and analyze experiments. The Loh Laboratory exploits knowledge of developmental biology to more accurately guide pluripotent stem cell differentiation, as reported in their recent manuscripts in Cell, Developmental Cell, and other journals. The Life Science Research Professional 1 will help to lead efforts to differentiate human pluripotent stem cells, which will entail the culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells, quantitative PCR, flow cytometry, immunostaining, as well as transplantation experiments into animal models. Due to the nature of human pluripotent stem cell differentiation experiments, flexible hours are required.
