In this position, you’ll be responsible for The LifeSciences (LS) Cell Isolationist performs cell/tissue/sample processing functions and maintains records in compliance with LifeNet Health policy and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and when applicable, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Performs all aspects of processing, preservation, and storage of tissues in a regulated environment. Works in a team environment under aseptic conditions while performing controlled production process for Lifesciences products. LS Cell Isolationist is also responsible for all aspects outside their cell isolation functions to include updating procedures, assisting in tech transfers of new products, and rotating in on call screening of potential donors. Your work will have purpose every single day, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Two (2) years related work experience in tissue banking, laboratory science, or related industry
  • No work experience required with BA Degree in LifeSciences, Biology, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Communication Skills
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in accomplishing tasks
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Laboratory Experience: Lab work to include cell culture or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in LifeSciences, Biology, or related field
  • Four (4) years related work experience in tissue banking, laboratory science, or related industry

Responsibilities

  • Assists with cleaning the lab and monitoring and ordering reagent/supply levels.
  • Operates and monitors laboratory equipment including maintenance and calibration.
  • Performs receiving and processing of research and GMP cells/tissue/samples according to established SOPs.
  • Follows all SOP and GLP/GMP (as appropriate) to perform job functions for characterization of products to include proper documentation per all /regulations and policies.
  • Performs quality checks of all documents and completes Certificates of analysis for products as directed by Senior LS Cell Isolationist or Team Lead.
  • Assists with new technology or assay validation transfer process from the R&D/PD/external departments including modification and creation of SOPs, specification sheets, batch records and forms.
  • Creates and performs investigations for any non-conformances that occur.
  • Works with engineering team to identify root causes and implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Works independently on tasks/items that need to be completed.
  • Assists in project management of tech transfers/updates from customers or PD on process changes.
  • Assists supervisory team in production enhancements and improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers, if needed.
  • Perform on call work to screen donors and make independent decisions on detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Is responsible for working with the AOCs to ensure that delivery and acceptance is acceptable.
  • Responsible for coordinating processing with the rest of the team
