About the position

Responsibilities
- Installing, maintaining, and programming major systems such as life safety alarms and emergency notification systems.
- Integrating electronic life safety into building control systems.
- Procurement, assembly, installation, and qualification of hardware, including signal wire routing and connection.
- Checking electrical input/output signals and related wiring for field instrumentation and devices.
- Performing system software installation, configuration, and qualification.
- Maintaining databases to support life safety, security, and communications systems.
- Documenting system information and recording maintenance activities.
- Installing, maintaining, and inspecting system and workstation installations throughout the facility.
- Obtaining State of Michigan Fire Alarm Specialty Technician License within 4 years of employment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with some relevant experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a related field.
- Basic computer skills.
- Interest in electricity and electronics.
- Ability to learn new concepts and skills.
- Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
