About The Position

Presbyterian Homes & Services - Carondelet Village is seeking a Recreation Specialist to join our team. The Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring high quality life enhancement/recreation therapy programming for residents consistent with regulations and established policies, procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Occupational Therapy, COTA or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five (5) years, with one (1) year full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
• Class B license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Strong assessment skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

• Specialized training or experience in geriatric activities, social work or gerontology.
• Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement high quality life enhancement/recreation therapy programming for residents.
• Monitor recreation therapy programming to ensure compliance with regulations and established policies.
• Engage with residents to assess their preferences and needs for recreation activities.
