About The Position

Under the direct supervision of Life Enrichment Director, the Coordinator provides assistance with implementing, directing and conducting the activities program for over 80 activities and events a month. This position will also assist with producing monthly newsletters and calendars for over 250 residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or above.
  • Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills; able to deal with all levels and physical abilities of residents, staff and visitors.
  • Able to work with the public and foundation donors as well.
  • Position requires knowledge and skills with computer technology: Microsoft Word, Power Points, etc.
  • Must have the organizational skills, ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Experience in a SENIOR retirement community and population over 62 preferred.
  • Current CPR and/or First Aid will be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and ability to push residents in wheelchairs and assist with walkers in and out of transportation vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning, organizing, supervising, and conducting special events and activity programs for Independent living and our Assisted Living floor.
  • Assist residents during events and activities with set up, refreshment prep such as decorating and undecorating for all events and activities as well as conducting activities in the Assisted Living Area,
  • Responds to resident and facility emergencies following Emergency and Disaster policies; responds to fire alarms and emergencies as needed.
  • Monitors activities that are performed by outside groups and volunteers.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly activity and event progress reports to Life Enrichment Director and other department head.
  • May collaborate with Assisted Living Staff to assist in planning, amending and carrying out Care Plans for individual residents.
  • Assists with planning and implementation of community outings and recreational trips in passenger bus or transportation vehicles, including ability and willingness to drive and assist residents in and out of ADA vehicle. Must maintain a clean driving record according to company expectations and have transportation to and from work with a current Driver's License.
  • May collaborate with other staff to develop and implement a monthly calendar of life enrichment and wellness activities for the community.
  • Exhibits good communication skills and attention to interpersonal relations, especially as it relates to sensitive/confidential information.
  • Additional duties assigned by the director as directed.
