As a Memory Care Life Enrichment Coordinator, you will enrich lives every day by assisting in the planning, creation and implementation of an activities program for our Memory Care residents that will meet the physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs of residents. You will have the daily opportunity to exercise your ability to encourage and motivate others, and to be a positive presence in the lives of residents and their families! Programming in Memory Care requires patience, flexibility, creativity, and the ability to adapt activities to meet residents where they are cognitively, emotionally, and physically. This role involves hands-on engagement and consistent interaction with residents throughout the day. This position follows a Tuesday through Saturday schedule. Availability to work weekends is required as weekends are an important time for resident engagement and community programming. The ideal candidate will: Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends and givers Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Have experience working with a social or recreational activities program in a health care setting, and preferably have experience working with people living with dementia Enjoy working as part of a team to arrange, organize, and assist with activities both on and off campus, such as holiday and birthday celebrations, social events, community outings, and exercise programs Have a genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment Have a commitment to confidentiality in respect to resident status and medical history Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
