Salary Range: Salary dependent on education and verifiable experience Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Job Duties Under the direction of the Life Enrichment Program Manager, the Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for assisting with coordinating, implementing and recording the activities and recreation programming for the residents of the Health Services areas in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Activity Coordination and Administrative Support Coordinates and organizes the activity and life enrichment programs of the Health Services areas in accordance with the vision and mission of St. James Place. Coordinates with the Program Manager and other activity and life enrichment staff to find resolution to problems or improve services. Schedules and performs life enrichment activities with the residents, including off-site outings and activities. Performs all items on the daily to-do lists consistently or ensures that list items have been performed. Evaluates safe work & activity practices & ensures resident safety, security & rights at all times. Assists with the safe transport of residents for activities and outings. Visits residents and accesses the need for activities that will fulfill their individual needs. Motivates residents and encourages participation in events and activities. Reports any concerns regarding staffing issues, programming or resident changes to the Program Manager. Maintains cleanliness and neatness in all rooms where activities are conducted and all storage areas. Leadership & Teamwork Develops and maintains a good rapport with all staff to ensure that a team effort is achieved in developing a comprehensive plan of activities that coincide with resident needs. Attends and participates in various departmental and management meetings as required. Provides written and or oral reports of the programs and activities as required. Meets with staff on a regular basis to develop, conduct and evaluate activities. Participates in continuing education opportunities for personal growth and professional development. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience in a social or recreation program, preferably in an assisted living, healthcare or CCRC activities program preferred Resident Activities Director (RAD) Certification, degree in therapeutic recreation or NAAP certification Ability to read and write as well as communicate with and understand the English language Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record Work Hours May require working long hours or hours outside of the normal work week. Will require availability for weekend rotation schedule. MAY BE DESIGNATED ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL IN THE EVENT OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, INCLUDING HURRICANES, EVACUATION, FIRE, FLOOD, ETC., AND BE REQUIRED TO REMAIN ON CAMPUS FOR THE DURATION OF THE EMERGENCY. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; ability to utilize proper body mechanics. The employee must have the ability to perform essential functions without posing a "direct threat" in the workplace.
