As an Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator, you will enrich lives every day by assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of engaging programs that support the physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual wellness of our Independent Living residents. You will have daily opportunities to connect with residents, encourage participation, and help foster a vibrant, welcoming community where residents feel supported, valued, and engaged. Programming in Independent Living is dynamic and resident-driven, requiring strong organization, creativity, and relationship-building skills. This role focuses on creating meaningful experiences, promoting social connection, and partnering with residents to develop activities that reflect their interests, talents, and goals, while maintaining an active and energetic campus environment. This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with weekends and holidays as needed. Availability to work weekends is required as weekends are an important time for resident engagement and community programming.

Requirements

  • Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends and givers
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have experience working with a social or recreational activities program in a health care setting
  • Enjoy working as part of a team to arrange, organize, and assist with activities both on and off campus, such as holiday and birthday celebrations, social events, community outings, and exercise programs
  • Have a genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment
  • Have a commitment to confidentiality in respect to resident status and medical history
  • Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of engaging programs that support the physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual wellness of our Independent Living residents
