About The Position

As a Life Enrichment Coordinator - Assisted Living for Frank Residences, you will plan and lead a variety of person-centered programs designed to enhance the emotional, social, and recreational well-being of residents in assisted living and memory care settings. You will foster a positive and engaging environment through group, one-on-one, and self-directed activities while promoting inclusion, creativity, and meaningful resident connection. This role supports interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation compliance, and the overall quality of life across campus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, psychology, social work, healthcare, recreation administration, or related field preferred.
Two (2) years of experience working with older adults in group or long-term care settings.
Excellent organizational, communication, and group facilitation skills.
Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness in program development.
Sensitivity to diverse physical, emotional, cognitive, and cultural needs.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to engage individuals from diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds.
Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry.
Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
Fine motor skills and good visual and auditory acuity.
Ability to safely transport residents in wheelchairs without fatigue over extended periods.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing opportunities for therapeutic self-expression for residents at all stages of memory loss, utilizing a wide variety of modalities to optimize quality of life and functional ability.
Facilitate programs that encourage social interaction, reduce isolation and boredom, and decrease the frequency and severity of behaviors associated with dementia.
Create a positive, caring, and stimulating environment that respects the diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds of all residents.
Motivate residents to actively participate in Life Enrichment programs to enhance quality of life and maintain cognitive functioning.
Encourage participation from families, volunteers, and caregiver staff as appropriate.
Understand and respond to the individual needs and abilities of residents and families, adapting activities accordingly.
Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who decline or are unable to participate in group activities.
Support the psychosocial needs of residents and families by providing emotional support during times of crisis or decline.
Complete required documentation in a timely manner, including attendance records, care plans, activity notes, and mandated reports as required.
Collaborate with caregiver staff, Byer Square staff, and Life Enrichment teams across campus to promote teamwork, quality outcomes, and meaningful programming.
Mentor and support student interns and volunteers involved in activities.
