About The Position

The Life Enrichment Assistant position is full time Monday-Friday day shift. We do have occasional needs for evening and some weekend hours as activities for residents are scheduled. This position supports the Life Enrichment Department by helping plan, implement, and sustain engaging programs and interventions that enhance the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. This role also includes carrying out responsibilities and duties as directed by the Life Enrichment Director. Must have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work effectively with elderly patients and residents or an educational background sufficient to carry out a quality program as designated by the Life Enrichment Director. Must demonstrate genuine enthusiasm, a self-motivated and positive personality, and a willingness to learn new ideas and skills. A good sense of humor, patience, strong organizational skills, assertiveness, and conscientiousness are essential. The role requires working collaboratively with partners, family members, and the community while maintaining a professional appearance.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate respect for and provide support to the supervisor through professionalism, collaboration, and accountability
  • Assist and support the Life Enrichment Director in assessing each patient to determine their activity interests and needs.
  • Attend, and contribute to, resident Plan of Care conferences and other staff meetings as scheduled by the LE Director.
  • Assist in offering 1:1 activities regularly to those who are unable or unwilling to participate in scheduled activities.
  • Conduct group activities as assigned by the director. Assist residents to and from activities.
  • Assist in providing opportunities for residents to participate in activities in the surrounding community.
  • Keep accurate attendance and participation records of each activity.
  • Document accurately, and in a timely manner, progress made by residents assigned, keeping all documentation current
  • Assist in fostering and maintaining positive public relations with the community, partners, residents, and their families.
  • Maintain awareness of NHC Standards and consistently adhere to the 20 Better Way Promises
  • Adhere to the established weekly work schedule, demonstrating preparedness, punctuality, and reliability.
