Life Enrichment Assistant (Part Time)
About The Position
We are a 109-bed skilled care and rehabilitation facility who provides person-centered care to each of our residents. Facility location: 111 S Congress Street, York, SC 29745 - 803-684-0035 We’re looking for a dynamic Life Enrichment Assistant to help enhance residents’ quality of life by supporting engaging group and one‑on‑one activities that promote social connection, emotional well‑being, cognitive stimulation, and physical movement. In this role, you’ll assist with daily activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, chair exercises, and special events; encourage participation; adapt activities to meet individual needs; support a warm, home‑like environment; and collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other team members to ensure residents feel connected, purposeful, and at home each day. Schedule ♦ Sundays from 10:00am - 3:00pm ♦ Tuesdays from 11:00am - 6:30pm ♦ Wednesdays from 11:00am - 6:30am Flexible schedule available, according to the need of the team per the Director's approval
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, setting up, and leading group and one‑on‑one activities for long‑term care residents
- Encourage and support resident participation in activities that promote socialization, cognition, mobility, and emotional well‑being
- Lead and assist with daily programs such as:
- Arts and crafts
- Brain games and memory activities
- Music programs and sing‑alongs
- Chair exercises and movement activities
- Games, celebrations, and special events
- Transport residents to and from activity areas and provide assistance as needed
- Prepare, distribute, and clean up activity supplies and equipment
- Observe residents during activities and report changes in engagement, mood, or behavior to the Activities Director
- Assist with documenting resident participation per facility and regulatory guidelines
- Support special events, holiday programs, and outside entertainment
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming activity environment
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, therapy teams, volunteers, and families
