Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with older adults

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recreation, activities, or a related field preferred — but not required

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and implement daily recreational and enrichment programs
  • Encourage Residents to build friendships, socialize confidently, and participate in group activities
  • Lead exercise programs including stretching, calisthenics, and group sports
  • Coordinate entertainment, special events, and community outings (lunch trips, sightseeing, picnics, and more)
  • Accompany Residents on outings and provide support throughout activities
  • Visit Residents who are non-ambulatory or at risk of isolation to ensure inclusion
  • Complete initial Resident assessments within 48 hours of admission and assist with ongoing program planning
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and required documentation
  • Evaluate Resident engagement and communicate observations to the team
  • Support and supervise volunteers during programs
  • Prepare weekly programming plans and necessary supply requests
  • Maintain and operate program equipment (projectors, computers, audiovisual systems, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively across departments to foster a positive, supportive team culture
