Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Creativity, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with older adults
Nice To Haves
- Experience in recreation, activities, or a related field preferred — but not required
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement daily recreational and enrichment programs
- Encourage Residents to build friendships, socialize confidently, and participate in group activities
- Lead exercise programs including stretching, calisthenics, and group sports
- Coordinate entertainment, special events, and community outings (lunch trips, sightseeing, picnics, and more)
- Accompany Residents on outings and provide support throughout activities
- Visit Residents who are non-ambulatory or at risk of isolation to ensure inclusion
- Complete initial Resident assessments within 48 hours of admission and assist with ongoing program planning
- Maintain accurate attendance records and required documentation
- Evaluate Resident engagement and communicate observations to the team
- Support and supervise volunteers during programs
- Prepare weekly programming plans and necessary supply requests
- Maintain and operate program equipment (projectors, computers, audiovisual systems, etc.)
- Work collaboratively across departments to foster a positive, supportive team culture
