Position:  Recreation Assistant Pay:  Competitive Pay Work Schedule: Full-time, 8:30am to 5:00pm, Sunday thru Thursday, days off Friday and Saturday.

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • Positive Attitude and People Skills are a must

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with residents with dementia
  • Assist the Activities Director in creating a monthly calendar of activities.
  • Ensure that a copy of the monthly calendar of activities in placed in a prominent spot in each resident’s room.
  • Interview residents or family members to obtain activity preferences.
  • Coordinate and assist residents in getting to activity locations within the facility.
  • Assist in conducting scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of residents.
  • Be able to switch and change activities, ideas and times without assistance.
  • Maintain relationship with Unit Manager, Social Worker, other staff, family members as well as community groups.
  • Treats all residents with dignity and respect.
  • Organize, maintain, and request Life Enrichment supplies list to Life Enrichment Director.
  • Complete required Life Enrichment Documentation as per Life Enrichment Director.
  • Assist with resident wheelchair transportation to events.
  • Assist with planning, set-up and clean-up from each activity.
  • Manage residents during activities, requesting assistance from volunteers/nursing/others as needed.
