We have an opening for a Life Enrichment Assistant to work Full Time. Lakeview's Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for assisting with the planning of personal interests and social activities for residents. This will include creating diversified opportunities for meaningful pursuits of daily recreation, exercises, friendships, social interaction, growth and learning, fun and enjoyment, and personal routines. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, speaking, and writing, when performing duties that require this need, and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
  • Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others

  • Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.

  • Previous experience working/volunteering with the elderly is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports in executing activities and events that are part of the activity program for residents in Care Center.
  • Facilitates personal interests and social activities for residents, ensuring a diverse and meaningful program that will meet the needs of the residents in alignment with a “whole-person wellness” philosophy.
  • Performs charting and recordkeeping duties to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Assists in conducting and documenting Neighborhood News in Care Center. Follows up on all concerns.
  • Provides both group and one-on-one activities directed by resident choice.
  • Works collaboratively with nursing staff and the Life Enrichment Coordinator to ensure maximum participation in resident activities.
  • Implements each resident’s plan of care for Activities and subsequent reassessments.
  • Performs assessments, completion of plan of care, and MDS in regard to resident activities of choice.
  • Ensures that group activities are scheduled at a time that would provide for maximum involvement by interested residents, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist with coordinating conduction and documentation of the “Neighborhood News” (Resident Council).
  • Coordinates the transportation of residents to and from activities both on- and off-campus, including bus trips. Receives support from other staff and volunteers to ensure transportation needs are met
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of enrichment equipment and supplies in alignment with the activities budget. Accurately tracks expenditures throughout the fiscal year.
  • Recognizes and reports abnormal signs and symptoms that indicate a physical or emotional change in resident’s condition that would require nursing or other intervention.
  • Recognizes and reports the conditions in the facility that may present a hazard to residents, staff, and/or visitors.
  • Assists in the Dining Room with serving according to residents’ diet profiles.
  • Assists with cleaning the activity area after each event.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, other departments within the facility, and off-campus contacts to ensure that operations consistently meet the needs of the facility and residents.
