About The Position

The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for assisting the Life Enrichment Director in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet the residents' social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs. This role involves working closely with seniors to enhance their quality of life through engaging activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services, or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
  • Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
  • Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead activities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
  • Assess residents' recreational and social needs.
  • Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
  • Lead small, large, and one-on-one activity programs with seniors.
  • Research and recommend entertainment/educational speakers/church representatives.
  • Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs.
  • Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
  • Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments.
  • Maintain the bus interior and exterior and report maintenance needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $16.00 to $18.00 annually.
