About The Position

The Life Enrichment Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing the wellbeing of seniors at Tabitha by leading programs that promote physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional engagement. This part-time position focuses on developing relationships with seniors, assessing their needs, and implementing individualized and group activities that foster self-respect and personal responsibility. The assistant collaborates with other team members to ensure optimal care and support for the seniors, aligning with Tabitha's core values and culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Development, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of six months experience working with elders.
• Valid Nebraska Driver's license and a good driving record required.
• Must possess auto insurance at or above Nebraska statutory requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in senior care or related fields.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiates one-to-one contact with Seniors/clients to develop relationships and assess mental, physical and emotional status.
• Plans, develops, organizes and implements group and individual Life Enrichment activities for Seniors/clients.
• Assists Seniors/clients to and from Life Enrichment activities as needed.
• Communicates effectively with Seniors/clients, families, and team members to achieve elder/client goals.
• Develops Life Enrichment activities utilizing community resources.
