About The Position
Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is a retirement community committed to providing our residents and staff with the utmost dignity and respect. We have served the community for 55 years, and we pride ourselves on the care that we have provided. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Life Enrichment Activity Aide. The ideal candidate is outgoing, energetic, and compassionate. Having fun at work is a job requirement! The standard schedule for this position is Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. As a Life Enrichment Activity Aide, you will join our dynamic Life Enrichment team to use your creativity and joy to enrich the lives of our residents. You will help implement activities that set residents up for success and ensure they experience the fullness that life has to offer. Your positive vibes will be reciprocated through the smiles and laughter of our residents. This role requires a compassionate individual who can adapt their approach based on each resident's ability and needs, including some Dementia-specific programming. You will be expected to communicate well with departmental staff to create collaboration in meeting the quality of life needs for each resident. The position also involves physical activities, including lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, grabbing, pushing or pulling up to 20 lbs., and standing or walking for an entire shift. The ability to read and follow regulations and instructions is essential, as is the ability to show warmth, love, and compassion to make residents feel comfortable. Additionally, you will be working in a Christian-centered environment, which includes reading the Bible and praying before meals.
