Requirements

Training in recreational therapy, dementia care, or a related field
Prior experience working with seniors, especially in memory care or dementia settings
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards residents
Flexibility to adapt activities to meet individual needs and preferences

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and cognitive abilities
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and emotional well-being
Assess residents’ needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans
Collaborate with staff and family members to ensure activities support residents’ overall care plans
Monitor and document residents’ participation and progress in activities
Maintain a safe and clean activity space, ensuring all equipment and materials are properly used and stored
