About The Position

The Life Coach position at the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) is designed to provide life skills support and case management within a unique program aimed at facilitating pathways to firefighting careers for formerly incarcerated individuals. This role involves working closely with participants to assess their needs, manage case files, and ensure compliance with program requirements while fostering a supportive environment for personal growth and social justice reform.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience with a criminal justice or related population.
• 1 year experience with case file documentation and creating case management plans.
• Valid driver's license and insurable by ARC's carrier.
• Ability to pass a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the criminal justice population.
• Residential experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs evaluations for individual service plans.
• Manage case notes, service plans, intakes, and incident reports in multiple databases.
• Ensure compliance with funding source performance targets by maintaining familiarity with contracts.
• Monitor participant progress and document interactions with CDCR and CAL FIRE staff.
• Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and organizational events as required.
• Transport participants to appointments and ARC functions.
• Provide case management to participants, documenting goals and needs weekly.
• Facilitate groups, activities, and mentorship programs for participants.
• Coordinate interventions between agencies and participants when needed.
• Refer participants to individual and group counseling resources.
• Administer urinalysis tests for substance use.
• Monitor site security and safety for participants and staff.
• Maintain sign-in/out logs to ensure protocol adherence.
