About The Position
FaithBridge Youth Opportunities is a program dedicated to assisting former foster and homeless youth in achieving their dreams through vocational training, financial assistance, and supportive care. Operating under FaithBridge Foster Care, Georgia's largest Christ-centered foster care agency, the Youth Opportunities Life Coach plays a crucial role in this mission. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth aged 17 to 26 who are pursuing post-secondary education or vocational training. The Life Coach serves as a mentor and advocate, guiding these young individuals as they navigate the challenges of adulthood, including education, employment, and life skills development. The Life Coach is responsible for managing the intake and admission processes for youth entering the program. They provide ongoing support through weekly meetings and regular check-ins, ensuring that each youth's safety and well-being are prioritized. This role involves coordinating necessary services such as medical, dental, educational, and mental health support, as well as facilitating transportation needs. The Life Coach also plays a vital role in discharge planning, helping youth transition successfully into independent living. In addition to practical support, the Life Coach offers spiritual guidance and crisis intervention, advocating for the best interests of the youth in their care. They work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including the youth's prior foster families, birth families, and other supportive adults, to foster healthy relationships and a supportive network. The Life Coach must demonstrate a strong understanding of trauma and its impact on youth, utilizing clinical skills to provide effective coaching and mentorship. This position requires a commitment to maintaining FaithBridge's policies and procedures while actively participating in after-hours on-call rotations to provide support as needed.
