About The Position
The role involves supporting the Assistant Chief in administering, managing, and overseeing the University Police Department . This includes providing basic police services aimed at reducing crime and enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. The position may also supervise various divisions such as parking, outreach and engagement, patrol, investigations, and administration.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field.
- Four years’ Experience as a first-line police supervisor.
- Two years experience as a Sergeant with the Texas State University Police Department or Texas State University System.
- Two years experience in a management position within a police department.
- 80 hours of law enforcement leadership training (Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, FBI LEEDA , FBI Academy, etc.).
