The Lieutenant of Special Operations is responsible for the management of the specialized units of police K9, co-responder/Outreach, Assessment, Resources and Response (OARR) team, Unmanned Aircraft System/Drone team, Special Response Team (SRT), Dignitary Protection Unit (DPU) and Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and will assist in their training. The lieutenant of special operations performs the same duties as police officers and sergeants/supervisors in providing law enforcement and protection services and other services in keeping with the mission and values of Case Western Reserve University and the Division of Public Safety. The lieutenant of special operations will exhibit a proactive, service-oriented approach to providing community-based policing services to the faculty, staff, students and visitors at Case Western Reserve University.
