Directs staff and manages overall activities of contract patrol divisions. Assists in the budget preparations. Manages fleet and equipment inventory. Participates in employee selection process including conducting background checks. Ensures adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Manages Constable criminal offense reporting program. Responsible for keeping subordinates apprised of events, special notices and assignments. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

  • High School/GED and Advanced TCOLE Certification.
  • 5 years of job related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, management, supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, department heads and elected officials.
  • Proficiency in use of firearms; Advanced TCOLE Certificate.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement or related field is preferred.
