The Newton-Wellesley Hospital Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program provides individual, community and systems responses to sexual assault and domestic violence through direct advocacy services, education, community linkages, quality improvement and program evaluation. · Provide direct services to primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. Services include but are not limited to crisis intervention, collaborative safety planning, advocacy, short and in some instances long-term counseling, as well as the provision of information, and supported referrals. · Holistically assess the particular needs of each survivor and ensure that appropriate services are offered to the survivor and any safe family and friends, including children, elders and animal companions. · Provide on-call consultation to hospital and community-based health care providers. · Develop and co-facilitate support, empowerment and wellness groups for survivors of interpersonal violence. · Provide outreach in the hospital and in the community to increase awareness of the availability of services for survivors. Work to address any barriers to obtaining services. · Work closely with program staff and volunteers to provide trauma-informed and survivor-centered services. · Work collaboratively with providers both within and outside the hospital to ensure an anti-oppression approach to the challenges faced by survivors both individually and collectively. This role is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, onsite.
