About The Position

The Licensing Specialist(s) will assist in various tasks related to the licensing process within the Investigations and Enforcement Department of the Cannabis Control Commission. This role involves providing technical support to staff, licensees, applicants, and inquirers regarding the licensing process and application portal, ensuring compliance and accuracy in applications, and representing the Commission in various interactions.

Requirements

  • Paralegal Certificate, Associates Degree, or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume atmosphere coordinating work at a non-profit, corporation, or government agency.
  • Experience reviewing complex documents for accuracy and compliance purposes.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks under time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively in an evolving environment.
  • Proficiency with computers and the MS Office Suite, including mail merges and pivot tables.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a confidential manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide licensing support, including administrative tasks associated with the Commission's electronic licensing system.
  • Evaluate applications for licensure to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in on-site inspections of marijuana establishments and medical marijuana treatment centers.
  • Assist in minimizing bias in the application and licensing process.
  • Enforce the collection of licensing fees and ensure timely reporting.
  • Draft reports for the Investigations and Enforcement Department.
  • Respond to inquiries about licensing and compliance.
  • Support Commission staff in responding to general inquiries.
  • Represent the Commission in interactions with marijuana establishments and applicants.
  • Attend meetings as a representative of the Licensing team.
