The Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) is a social and human services agency whose mission is to successfully partner with families, caregivers, and the community to strengthen families, ensure safety, and achieve permanency for all Arizona's children through prevention, services, and support. Licensing Specialist-Concerns Specialist The Concerns Specialist investigates and set dispositions for licensing issues for licensed Family Foster homes in order to verify all applicable laws and regulations are being observed. In-state travel required. Note: May not seek nor maintain a license or certification for any services regulated by the Office of Licensing and Regulation; nor seek or maintain secondary employment with any entity regulated by OLR during employment within OLR. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.   • Conducts in person interviews and/or observations with children and caregivers, and interviews other collateral sources as part of the investigation of licensing issues in licensed foster/kinship homes statewide.
  • Reviews supporting documentation such as medical records, educational records, police reports, or DCS assessments. Write reports to document interviews/observations. Write letters to set disposition on DCS concerns and licensing issues within required time frames.
  • Provides education to families and/or agencies on Rules and Regulations to maintain compliance.
  • Staff licensing concern dispositions with Team Lead, Supervisor, and licensing agencies as needed. Attend various meetings as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
  • Knowledge of: Regulatory principles and practices, as well as federal and state laws and regulations regarding licensing, renewal, and safety inspections requirements
  • State and Agency policy and procedures governing licensing, licensing amendments and renewals, and monitoring and safety inspections

  • Requires the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration. Mileage may be reimbursed, if applicable.   • The ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
  • The ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, social work, psychology, counseling, or other related field with two years of licensing experience or one year of DCS field experience.
