About The Position

The position involves initiating, facilitating, and performing various licensing, intake, and recruitment functions related to specialized foster care and adoption programs at Little City. The role requires knowledge of licensing rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with standards, and serving as an expert on licensing-related issues. Responsibilities include managing licensing files, coordinating licensing activities, conducting investigations, and training foster parents.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Illinois as a Child Welfare Worker.
  • Experience with children with medical complexities, developmental delays/disabilities, and/or behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
  • Must be able to work constructively with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer to complete all documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of rules, regulations, and standards relating to licensing of Foster/Adoptive families.
  • Ensure licensing standards for Foster Family Home reference #402 IL Department of Children and Family Services are enforced.
  • Serves as agency expert on licensing-related issues pertaining to foster homes.
  • Consult with the foster care/adoption team on licensing-related issues.
  • Liaises with DCFS Licensing Staff to seek/provide information.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of recruiting foster/adoptive parents.
  • Manage licensing files including creating new files for new applicants and at renewal.
  • Coordinate all licensing activities and conduct all monitoring visits.
  • Conduct all licensing investigations and revocations in the foster care/adoption program.
  • Assess families and complete written, professional home studies.
  • Maintain current licensing forms electronically on Little City’s shared drive.
  • Submit recommendations for licensure to the Social Work Supervisor.
  • Coordinate all training for foster parents.
  • Timely follow up to all inquiries about foster/adoptive parenting.
  • Attend all licensing trainings as required.
  • Responsible for all safety activities in the workplace.
  • Maintains American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Successfully completes required training and re-training.
