About The Position

The Licensing Investigator is responsible for conducting thorough background investigations and evaluations for the licensing of employees and vendors within the Gun Lake Tribe's gaming operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with gaming regulations, preparing investigative reports, and making recommendations regarding licensing decisions. The investigator will also handle data compilation, maintain records, and assist in developing licensing procedures, all while adhering to the standards set by the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Commission.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate required.
  • 2+ years of gaming or regulation experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of licensing ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to gaming licensing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct background investigations for casino employee and vendor licensing applications.
  • Fingerprint applicants and evaluate their eligibility for licensing.
  • Prepare investigative reports and make recommendations for approval or denial of applications.
  • Ensure compliance with the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Ordinance and internal policies.
  • Correspond with the National Indian Gaming Commission regarding applications and eligibility determinations.
  • Assist in the preparation of applicant and licensee lists and reports.
  • Maintain electronic and physical file systems for licensing records.
  • Work with database systems to compile and provide relevant data for licensing.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems and manage correspondence.
