As a Licensing Coordinator, you will support the Legal Department by managing licensing activities for airport food and beverage locations across North America. This position is based on-site in our Ashburn, VA Support Center office, where you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely license processing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or certificate required; bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensing professional, ideally in food and beverage, hospitality, or a related industry.
  • Corporate legal experience and/or a paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Experience with licensing software (e.g., LicenseHQ) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex and time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
  • Intermediate technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to pass required background checks and airport security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of SSP’s business and its licensing environment.
  • Track and manage all business, health, liquor, and other permits for airport food and beverage locations.
  • Assist in collecting, preparing, and tracking licensing support documentation.
  • Prepare applications and disclosure submissions required by federal, state, and local governments.
  • Ensure license renewals and applications are accurately and promptly filed.
  • Provide status reports on pending licensing matters, advise on next steps, and manage documentation.
  • Oversee the execution and retention of licensing documents.
  • Conduct due diligence and legal research to support compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate outside counsel as needed to ensure cost-effective support.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders and assist the Legal team with other projects as needed.
