About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse as an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team, utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to employees and volunteers at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. Delivers services that meet or exceed professional, organizational, community and regulatory standards and provides customer satisfaction. Provides clinical and administrative services for new hires and volunteers. Administers immunizations, PPD skin tests, N95 mask fit testing, annual health assessments, return to work clearances, and completes new employee health assessment and clearance. Actively involved in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Maintains well-organized and up-to-date record keeping systems while ensuring confidentiality of employee health records. Employee participates in a collaborative work environment as demonstrated through teamwork and effective communication. Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Specialized/technical training
  • Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing Program
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential information
  • Able to make decisions effectively and with appropriate stakeholder input
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse - LVN (CA DCA)
  • Valid California Vocational Nursing license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • LVN - Intravenous Therapy Certification (CA DCA)
  • AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) If no certification upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Emergency Department LVNs are required to pass the hospital’s electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation test

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Minimum one (1) year current experience as a LVN preferred
